There is a three-year sunset, on the use of significant discrepancy to determine insufficient progress.  By December 1, 2013 all schools must transition from using significant discrepancy to using progress monitoring data from 2 intensive, scientific research or evidence based interventions to decide if a student demonstrates insufficient progress in one or more areas of concern. The areas of concern are as follows:

•       oral expression

•       listening comprehension

•       written expression

•       basic reading skill

•       reading fluency

•       reading comprehension

•       mathematics calculation

•       mathematics problem solving

The school district will make the change over in November.
